DOMINION RIVERROCK presented by SUBARU

May 18-20, 2012
Richmond, VA

Dominion Riverrock presented by Subaru is the East Coast's premier outdoor lifestyle festival, bringing athletes, spectators, musicians, and even dogs to Brown’s Island and Historic Tredegar for a three-day festival against the backdrop of downtown Richmond’s urban riverfront. The festival features a variety of outdoor sports including trail running, kayaking, biking, bouldering, stand up paddleboarding, slacklining and dog jumping. The event was designed to promote Richmond’s unique riverfront, downtown trails and whitewater rapids to outdoor enthusiasts. As a result of the creation of Dominion Riverrock, there is a stronger appreciation for the value of outdoor recreation throughout the entire Richmond region.  All events and concerts are FREE to spectators!

Subaru Ultimate Air Dogs is one of the premier dock jumping organizations in the country.  From the smallest Novice jumper to the biggest Ultimate high flyer, each and every dog is a star on the dock.  Each competition will be directed and announced by Milt Wilcox, President of Ultimate Air Dogs.

It’s go big or go home in the Native Freestyle Bikes at Dominion Riverrock.  Some of the best pro’s in the nation look for big action on the course designed by freeride bikes pioneer, Jeff Lenosky. These riders will definitely wow the crowd with wicked air and the carnage left behind from huge gravity checks.

Kick off Dominion Riverrock with some down and dirty fun. Start on the Tredegar Iron Works property near 5th Street and run over the Lee Bridge to Belle Isle. Take the 22nd Street Entrance and then you'll cross into the dry way, where you rock-hop your way to the other side.  Obstacles and mud pits await you as you travel the trails of Belle Isle.

The James River Scramble is not your normal 10k! Run over a unique course bringing together some of Richmond's greatest riverfront attributes, including Brown's Island, the Canal Walk, James River Park, Belle Isle and the Floodwall. This is not a race for walkers!

The Boulder Bash is returning to Dominion Riverrock in 2012. This event features some of the top pro climbers in the country, who will max out their agility to climb up and out of a  20 foot high bouldering cave.  Dubbed the "most unique bouldering wall ever constructed," this cave gives spectators a full 360-degree view and was custom built solely for Dominion Riverrock.

Get ready to race your mountain bike on some of the best urban single track the East Coast has to offer. The rock gardens, short steep climbs, creek crossings, fast downhills, and twisty single track are both technically challenging and physically demanding. Details.

Think of Dominion Riverrock as Richmond’s playground where you can test out some of the latest, greatest outdoor toys and familiarize yourself with outdoor adventure sports like bouldering, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, mountain biking and slacklining. Details.

Relax, have a beer (or two!) and enjoy the music – another major component of Dominion Riverrock. All concerts at Dominion Riverrock, including the headliners on Friday and Saturday evenings, are FREE and open to the public.
