DOMINION RIVERROCK IS OFFICIALLY A 'GREEN' EVENT
The Mead WestVaco Green Zone at Dominion Riverrock aims to educate festival attendees on how they can act to minimize their collective impact on the environment. The MWV Green Zone showcases environmentally friendly products, practices, services and ideas. Festival sponsors and non-profit organizations will educate and engage the athletes and spectators, 
inviting them to take action toward a more sustainable future. The “greening” of Riverrock is paramount given the festival’s clear focus on the river and the James River Park System.
Dominion Green Power has purchased renewable energy certificates (RECs) on behalf of Dominion Riverrock to help green this event
DOMINION RIVERROCK GREEN TEAM
The Green Team is a group of "environmental ambassadors" whose main focus during the event will be recycling. These key volunteers will be stationed at all recycling stations and roaming the event grounds making sure waste is disposed of properly. PEDAL POWER
Dominion Riverrock welcomes Pedal Power to Dominion Riverrock! Pedal Power is an interactive way to demonstrates simple steps residents can take to reduce energy consumption and have a positive impact on the environment. Did you know that the power created from pedaling a bicycling can cook food? Or power a 75-100 Watt lightbulb? As the tires turns, it spins a wheel creating electricity.
RIDE YOUR BIKE TO DOMINION RIVERROCK!
Dominion Riverrock encourages you to ride your bike to the festival. It's easier on the environment, and you won't have to worry about parking! Bike racks will be available onsite.

A conscious effort has been made to select healthier, organic food options in 2011. Come hungry, leave healthy!
