What is Red Bull Berm Burners?:

Red Bull Berm Burners’ stripped down pump track presents a unique challenge to riders, ultimately testing their core abilities on a dirt cyclone of moto whoops housed between two fast, steep berms. All cyclists and classes—MTB, Downhill, Cross, BMX, and more—are welcome to enter and take on the challenge of the first-ever Red Bull Berm Burners. Race format will be head-to-head, with five-lap racing to qualify for the finals. Sixteen finalists with the fastest single lap times in qualifying will then compete in a head-to-head tournament style bracket to determine the Red Bull Berm Burners champion. Racers progress through the bracket based on the first rider to complete 5 total laps versus their opponent.

Amateur Race Day will be held on May 18th, 2014. The entry fee for the race is $20.

Awards:

Prize money will be awarded to the top 3 competitors in ONLY the pro division on Saturday.

Participation in the Professional level event on Saturday is by invitation only. If you are interested in participating, please email Nan Turner.

Registration for the Amateur event on Sunday is available online through 11:59 p.m. on May 13.


On site registration is in the American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar courtyard during the following times:
Thursday, May 15 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday, May 18 beginning at 10 a.m.

Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.

* There is limited space and no guarantee that you will get on the track for the practice rounds.  It will be on a first come, first serve basis so get there early.  In order to participate in the practice round, you must be a registered participant and have already picked up your registration packet to include your bib number.  The bib number MUST be worn for practice and the competition.

Competition Format:

This fast-pace, high energy event will include one qualifying round and a bracket-style finals.  The qualifying round will time racers for 5 laps with the fastest 16 times moving on.  These top 16 participants will be seeded and placed in a bracket for a single-eliminations finals.  Finals will have the athletes racing head to head in a 16-person bracket, with the athlete who finishes 5 laps fastest moving to the next round of bracket play.


Rules:

  • Mountain bikes, BMX bikes, CX Bikes and Single Speed are all allowed
  • All riders must wear a helmet
  • Consumption of alcohol before the event is PROHIBITED
