About the Class:

Flow like the river! This all-levels vinyasa flow practice will link postures through breath and movement and will open, strengthen and lengthen your muscles-- while at the same time will calm, soothe and open your mind. Modifications will be suggested to aid in advancement-- or to help you take it easy. This class is for everyone and especially useful to those athletes participating in the many challenging Dominion Riverrock events! Please bring your mat, water, and an open heart. Sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended as well.

About the Instructor:

Project Yoga Richmond Ambassador Michelle Lee Landon was first introduced to yoga in 2006 while living in New York City, and practiced as a means to supplement intense workouts. It was not until she took her first vinyasa flow class in 2009 with DC-based Baptiste Power Yoga instructor Allison Adams that she truly had her “ah-ha moment” with yoga. Through regular practice, she began to see the transformative effects on her mind, body, spirit-- and ultimately her life. Her desire to learn more about yoga outside of just the physical asana practice led her to the Beloved Yoga summer immersion teacher training in Reston, VA in 2011, where she received her 200-hour teacher certification.

Her favorite style of yoga to teach and practice is vinyasa flow, influenced by Baptiste Power Vinyasa,  Ashtanga Yoga, and Prana Flow. Her love of vinyasa flow yoga is shown in her classes with fun, playful, creative sequences focusing on breath and alignment.  She encourages her students to have fun in class and leave with smiles on their faces. She teaches “Feel Good Friday Flow” at Project Yoga Richmond, an all-donation based yoga non-profit and community space and also volunteers with PYR’s outreach work.

Michelle is honored to be a part of the growing yoga community in Richmond, and looks forward to a life of never ending learning, and sharing through yoga. Her other interests include art, fashion, sunflowers, reggae music and her sassy Pomeranian, Sophie.
