About the Instructors:

Elisa Mangubat (RYT 500) has been teaching yoga since 2011. Yoga found Elisa almost 9 years ago after she sustained knee injuries through dance. She hopped on her mat and began practicing with Ann Richardson Stevens at Virginia Wesleyan College, thinking that yoga would be a good rehabilitation practice for her knee and body. Little did she know it would turn into much more. Elisa continued her practice at Studio Bamboo Institute of Yoga in Virginia Beach, VA when it opened in 2009, and quickly began to realize the mind/body connection that yoga cultivated, which led her to taking the next step. She obtained her 200 hour certification from Studio Bamboo and continued on to receive her 500 hour certification from My Yoga Spirit in Norfolk, VA. She has worked closely with Off the Mat Into the World and Every Kids Yoga, and is currently working with Anya Porter of Breakti Yoga to bring breakdance inspired yoga to at-risk children and youth in the  community. Elisa enjoys a Vinyasa style practice, and encourages her students to open their minds and their hearts to the yoga practice in a playful manner, with close focus on alignment.

Jonathan Miles (ERYT 200) is a passionate yogi, and inspirational instructor. Combining over 15 years experience practicing kung fu, capoeira and studying the path of Yoga, Jonathan (Yogi J) Miles has been teaching yoga, and leading workshops and trainings since 2003, and is currently the lead ERYT for the Om On Yoga teacher training program. It is the convergence of styles and teachers that have inspired the passion for teaching yoga. Classes are rooted in compassion and disciplined, each session blending philosophy, humor and a continuous effort to cultivate an indrawn awareness. With the main focus on the body’s natural rhythm and patterns of breath, students are skillfully (and playfully) guided through movements that build strength, courage and confidence. In 2010 Jonathan co-founded Project Yoga Richmond (PYR), whose mission is to help spread the joy and benefits of yoga to those with the least access, and to create a stronger, unified yoga community.
