The Blue Ridge Mountain Sports Boulder Bash is returning to Dominion Riverrock in 2012. The event features some of the top pro climbers in the country ascending a man made 20 foot high bouldering cave. This cage, visible to spectators from all sides, has been called the "most unique bouldering wall ever constructed" and was custom built for Dominion Riverrock and Dominion Riverrock only. During the competition, Men and Women will be forced to max out their agility in order to climb up and out of the cage.

Climbers interested in taking part in the Boulder Bash should be highly qualified climbers with women being able to climb V8 or above and men being able to climb V10 or above. Once competitors’ qualifications are verified, competitors will be required to officially enter the competition. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Friday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.*
*All athletes must report to the climbing zone before 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 18 for an event briefing.
There will be 20 women and 20 men competing on 2 routes with a 5 minute break between the routes on Friday evening. The top 14 competitors move on to the quarterfinal round for one route Saturday afternoon. The top 12 competitors move on to the semifinal round on Saturday evening. The top eight move on to the finals on Sunday for one last route. Competitors will have 5 minutes to complete each route until the final round, where they will have 6 minutes.
